Our mission

Better future for oncology

The symposium aims to promote collaboration among scientists, clinicians, and representatives from the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors from the USA, Canada, and Central and Eastern European countries. The event seeks to accelerate the development and testing of new cancer therapies and improve care for oncology patients.

History of the Annual Marie Skłodowska-Curie Symposium on Cancer Research and Care

The Annual Marie Skłodowska-Curie Symposium on Cancer Research and Care was initiated in May 2019 during the 60 Million Congress/Global Polonia Summit in Buffalo. The event aimed to unite scientists, educators, and oncology care specialists from the USA and Poland. After a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the second edition took place in September 2022 in a hybrid format, gathering 112 participants from various countries, including Poland, Ukraine, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Canada, and the USA. The third edition was held in September 2023 at the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, attracting 137 participants from 20 academic institutions and representatives from the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors.

  • Education and training in oncology.

Educational Points

Participation in the Symposium entitles physicians to receive
20 educational points (for confirmed attendance).

Information about the Model:
Year A in Europe, Year B in the USA

Starting from 2025, the symposium adopts a rotational model: in odd-numbered years (Year A), it takes place in Europe, and in even-numbered years (Year B), in the USA.
